Malus Spiritus History

We formed in September of 2003 in a games called neocron. We were origianlly called 'Spirit of 2726' on Pluto, which refered to some of the neocron backstory and we changed to 'Malus Spiritus' because it was more applicable to any new game we might play.

Neocron was a PvP MMO with a FPS interface and outpost combat, and this is the sort of game we are always looking for.

Here is a list of games we have played and how they faired:

Neocron (NC) (1 year)
This was our first game as a group and a few people survived from this era Its fair to say that the clan is based on the principle of one day playing an NC clone and having end game PvP of the same qualitiy. We are about having good PvP where there is a fair fight that we can win by player skill. Everything was right about neocron (except from all the bugs and errors), but the developer did not know what they had and the spent their time trying to catch up with what other developers were doing (Starwars) rather than improving teh unique game that they had created. The end effect was to kill a very good pvp game.

Starwars Galaxies (3 months)
Due to a down turn in NC, we dabbled with starwars - it was very poor but then it was a long time ago in a... well whatever.

Neocron 2 (4 months)
Having decide that neocron was no good they changed its name to necoron 2 and addded more bugs a features that noone wanted. For 4 months we tried to get back into the game but it was so poorly done it was not really worth worrying about.

WoW (~2 years)
This is the point at which we lost our way a little - we started right at the beginning and grew to an end game raiding clan. We were very successful but WoW always lacked the pvp that we desired. Rather than staying true to our ideas we changed to adapt to being a raiding guild and had to keep people in to be able to raid rather than ask them to leave as they were not nice people. Although we had a lot of fun in the end it all turned sour as we were not true to ourselves. At our peak we had 120+ players.

BF2142 (2 months)
A fun shot em up

Eve Online (1 year with clan corp/On Going)
Not really an 'offical' guild game more like a background game to hop back and to 'between games' although some class this as their '2nd MMO' and continuly run Eve in the background while playing the 'main' game at the time. We have a holding corp but most of us are scattered throughout many different corps and come and go as we please.

Tabula Rasa (1 Month-ish)
TR - the first MMO since Neocron to be 'Neocron like', sadly this is about as far as the game took us due to certain issues of lacking a means of PVP dispite screaming capturable points with the bases without the 'pvp' part, and the insane lack of a methord to grind relaying solely on questing which ended up killing many as they were either broken or hard to the point it was too teaidus to do by the end of it.. Perhaps this will need a seccond look later.. for now it's tucked away in the 'maybe' pile.

Age of Conan  [Recruit]

Age of Conman (3 months)
We played from the begining, leveled to 80 and the developers forgot to put and pvp content in :) Oh well it all looked good but it had to end when we learned the truth, but we did build a city :)

After taking a poll of members opinions we decided to build the guild city in Poitain.

The landscape looks so clean and fresh ..... just waiting for some major city development !

user image

Building the city was a little quicker than we anticipated......

user image

......and some of us became part of the foundations.

user image

Our masterpiece.

user image

Whats that horse doing up here?

user image

Next time we were more prepared......

user image

......and the building was smooth........

user image

......and there's another done !

We raced along getting lots of building up......

user image

...and checked that mammoths would fit through the gate.

We worked late into the night,

but still couldn't find any books in the library.

user image

Until finally the first stage of our city was complete.

user image

Now to complete the rest of it........

....but we never did get any further as there was nothing else to do at lvl 80, so we stoped and waited for WAR to come out.
